We have all experienced anxiety at one time or another.
You know the feeling. Your heart pounds, your palms get
sweaty and you feel like you're in imminent danger.
Anxiety is a normal reaction. It’s your mind and
body’s response to threat. You may experience anxiety
right before a job interview or having guests come over.
People react differently to stressful and have different
indicators of anxiety. For most people the symptoms
of anxiety are the same; however they can be
individualized based on one’s particular situation.
Anxiety can manifest itself in flushing or palpitating of
the heart and clouding of the thought process.
The good news! It's safe to say that anxiety can be
controlled. One of the most effective ways to curb anxiety
is to be aware of your circumstances, and the events that
may be causing it. When experiencing anxiousness, try to
understand what is actually happening to you physically
and psychologically. Start the process of decreasing your
anxiety by learning as much as possible about it. By
practicing breathing techniques and remaining aware of
your emotions, anxiety suffers can recognize anxiety’s
effect. Once you begin to understand anxiety you can
slowly begin to make adjustments in your reactions to it.
You can begin to slow your heart rate simply by thinking
of good things and reminding yourself that everything will
be alright.
